In most cases, the term "Corbett" refers to Jim Corbett National Park, a well-known wildlife sanctuary in the Indian state of Uttarakhand. In the northern Indian state of Uttarakhand's Nainital district is where you'll find Jim Corbett National Park. About 520 square kilometres (200 square miles) are covered by it. When the park was first created in 1936, it was given the name Hailey National Park in honour of Sir Malcolm Hailey, the United Provinces' then-Gov. In honour of Jim Corbett, a British hunter, conservationist, and author who was instrumental in its founding, it was renamed Jim Corbett National Park in 1957
